About Meditation

...It is meditation that takes us to the top of our capabilities, that confers supreme success on our efforts. It is the basic and most active ingredient in a recipe for success of any kind. Whatever be their calling or vocation, all people get a surprising boost in their career or pursuit through meditation. When we talk about genius, we are, in fact, talking about a flower of meditation. The greater the measure of meditation in our comprehension of a subject, the greater is the possibility of our mastering it.

...When concentration gets touched by Grace, its name is meditation. It is a blessing of the Divine; it is the greatest catalyst. We may touch anything with it, and lo and behold, the camoufloge starts vanishing, the layers covering up the reality start falling apart, and the true nature of a being, an object, or a concept shines clearly before us.

In a deep and mysterious friendship with our mind, without being waylaid by interferring thoughts or inner dialogue, our awareness soars beyond our physical prison house to a realm of light and clarity. Our awareness is unclouded and is no longer twisted around and manipulated by our senses, nor by our ever-possessive ego, which normally has a tight grip over us.

Hence, whatever we achieve through meditation confers its best fruits on us. If we want wealth, we also acquire a fair and balanced perspective, thus the wealth does not enjoy us; we enjoy it. We can have worldly pleasures, but WE enjoy them. Whatever we taste, see, hear, or touch enriches us and satisfies a deep-seated desire for fulfillment.

...Meditation happens when the lower or physical senses lose their grip on us and we become aware of our inner senses. A golden universe opens up to our inner view, and we are transfixed with wonder and joy.

In meditation we do not drop heavily into ourselves as a piece of lead or into a state similar to a coma. Instead, we dive into our inner Self like a star, throwing light around us and illuminating the treasures within us. ...

...When we come out of meditation, we give every moment the benefit of that awareness. We give total attention and respect to each moment. We are always in the best company, with the best person, at the best time.

Peace of mind is the first fruit. Through pain and pleasure, adversity or prosperity, through all the vicissitudes of fate, we calmly remain unperturbed, like the full moon behind the fast racing clouds.

All this happens after our purification. The sanskaras (impressions left on our minds from many lifetimes and the present life) have cluttered the tube of consciousness called Mind. Through meditation we purify our chakras and remove the sanskaras

When we are ready for purification, we are ready for meditation. When we are ready for meditation, we are ready for illumination.

...Meditation is a state of total surrender to our inner Being.

...Technique? What technique do you use when you go to sleep? Meditation is as easy as sleep. Of course, when you want to fall asleep, you relax your body and disconnect yourself from everyday thoughts, and you naturally start taking deep breaths. Do the same thing when you want to meditate. Instead of lying down, sit with your spine straight but not rigid in an easy posture. Otherwise, if sitting on a chair, sit straight with both feet resting on the floor. Do not cross the legs.

Exhale fully, then take a natural deep breath. Do this several times. Ignore your thoughts. Feel you are the sky and thoughts are redundant clouds. The best thing is to ignore them. Do not push them away or get hijacked by them.

It is extremely beneficial to chant in your mind the all-protective and powerful mantra Om Namah Shivaya. This mantra carries the combined spiritual power of great ancient sages and siddhas (enlightened beings) and the millions of those who chant it. The words and their sounds are conducive to deep peace and capable of raising one's inner power—kundalini.

Preferably sit everyday at the same time, in the same place, and for the same duration—if possible not less than 27 minutes.

May the power of kundalini and the Divine siddhas shower their Grace on you!

Om
